some SD-ATA44 adapters wrongly produce activity signal, therefore it's not working even on A600/A1200 ATA controllers. There's a fix floating around involving soldering a transistor into adapter, but there was also a project of angled IDE adapter with single 74xx chip which fixed this signal.

  • Do a research how to fix it, preferably on expansion's side

Krashan fixed activity LED using dual inversion of activity signal. Schematic is here. Thanks for info!

This means replacing LS04 with HCT14 and a bit of additional routing. As an added bonus I'll convert all 74xx chips to HCT family.
