As far as the PR goes, not really. It just retrieves the latest Harper version is so it can be printed.

Thanks! Harper is managed by my package manager however, there's not much point in checking for updates in this case. Is it possible to disable it?

I think it's supposed to be used as debug info that people can provide when they file issues, but I get your point. Maybe it can be a command instead of something done automatically.

Once #1334 is merged, you'll be able to disable it using harper-ls --skip-version-check.

I misspoke. It's been merged, but I have yet to distribute a release with the code. That looks correct to me, but it won't work until the release it out.
