Information Architecture for OpenSourceDesign.is

We should probably talk about what content should be on the site. This isn't set in stone, but this is what I think we should go for.

Goal:

1. Showcase people practicing good open design methods
2. Inform designers how they can be more open in their design process
3. Be an example of an open source design project from the start

Content:

• Articles/blog posts (already started)
  • Tutorials
  • Editorials
  • Announcements
• Links to resources (barely started)
• Showcase (success and failure)
• Job board (not for money, just os projects looking for contributors)

Feel free to chime in.

It would be good to play with the domain name on all of these too. I have opensourcedesign.is/everywhere setup for the links, but maybe it would be better for the showcase.

Any creative ideas would awesome.

I like a good blog section, however I'm more interested in helping out with resources and helping people understand the who, what, where, why, how of open design. It would be nice to point people to the site to help them get their heads around things.

That's not to say there can't be a blog/articles section, but it's important to lay that foundational work as well.

Just trying to clarify what you are thinking:

• Who is doing it?
• Where can I find out more?
• What is the benefit of doing this? (why) Would this link off site?
• How - Tutorials? Would this link off site?

BTW, although we've already started collecting content, I'd don't think the current IA (however small) is really all that good.
