CREATE ASSEMBLY error

I get the following issue when running load-assembly.sql:

CREATE ASSEMBLY for assembly 'RegexAssembly' failed because assembly 'RegexAssembly' is malformed or not a pure .NET assembly.
Unverifiable PE Header/native stub.

Can you provide more details? What version of SQL Server are you using? Is it running on-premise, in a cloud VM, on AWS RDS? Did you use the assembly checked into GitHub or did you build it yourself?

I'm running it on SQL Server 12.0.2000.8.
It is running on-premise.
I used the assembly from Github.

Great! I'll see about reproducing the error. Also, just in case this is relevant - what version & edition of Windows are you running? (e.g. Windows Server 2012, or Windows Server 2012 R2 Core)

Windows 10 Pro. I am hosting the server in my own computer.

My apologies for the delay, @jerrison . I was looking at this further, and I'm not able to reproduce it using a Windows 10 Pro VM and SQL 2014 (12.0).

Looking at the documentation on this issue, it appears that this is due to using C++ code, which isn't relevant. It might be due to your version of SQL referencing a .NET framework version I wasn't expecting, since the sql-server-2014.dll is built for .NET 4.

Can I ask you to run the following command and return the results?

'select * from sys.dm_clr_properties'
