No such file or directory: 'OUT2_SALT2mu+wOL.fitres'

Hi there!

I was trying to follow the notebook supernovae.ipynb but this gave the error:

IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'OUT2_SALT2mu+wOL.fitres'

It is possible to get this data from some other place to reproduce the example notebook?

Hello!

Thanks for pointing it out that this file was missing! You could adapt the example to read any SN data file but we used a "fitres" file output from the SNANA simulation package. I've updated the repo so an example file is now included so please just do a "git pull" to get the updated version.

If you would like a more python friendly SN example I can add some code which shows how to run sncosmo with astroABC. Just let me know if this would be useful for your science case!

It would be great to see more friendly examples, of course.

At this point it is not clear for me how the example_data_file.txt was obtained, except that was produced by SNANA, and how to obtain the plots abc_particles.png, abc_contours.png and mcmc_contours.png that are pulled from the notebook, but may I need to read the documentation and related papers more carefully.
