Slack conversation (hyperlinked to channel name): #migrate

Action Performed:

This is a new feature.

  1. Get on the newManualExpenseFlow beta.
  2. Go to Create expense
  3. Click the Scan tab
  4. Take a picture of a receipt
  5. Click "Show more"
  6. Verify Merchant, Date, Amount fields are present
  7. Enter a merchant name
  8. Click "Create expense"
  9. Verify the in-line errors for required date and amount appear
  10. Fill out those fields
  11. Click "Create expense"
  12. Verify the the expense is created
  13. Verify the receipt doesn't show "Scanning..." fields or any of the user entered merchant, date, amount fields update. Repeat the steps above in the different scan flows:
  • Drag and drop (desktop)
  • Green scan fab
  • Quick Action Button
  • Long press on the app icon > "Scan receipt"

Expected Result:

  • Add the Merchant, Amount, and Date fields to the Scan tab confirmation screen
  • Revealed after clicking "Show more"
  • If any of the merchant, date, amount fields are entered manually, all become required to create the expense.
  • Choosing to enter the merchant, date, amount in this Scan flow should behave the same as Create expense > Manual if you were to attach a receipt image during creation. We don't show fields as "Scanning..." post creation, or update the values to what was read from the receipt.

Actual Result:

The scan flow doesn't show these fields in NewDot currently. As a result, migrating users accustom to Scan > enter details are getting stuck.

Workaround:

Go back to Classic. Or, create the expense and modify once created.
