document.body may be null when initializing the script inside the HEAD tag. Use document.documentElement instead.
Safari now supports CSS.registerProperty. We need to hook registered properties for the polyfill, even if this exists.
The paintRaf and defferred paint ordering caused every other RAF to be skipped.

This is an update to PR #19, that now works and gives animated "rendered values" with Safari.
