v2.1.0 overwriting saved Profiles without me changing or saving anything.

Win 11. Ver 24H2. Legion T5 computer, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X 16-Core Processor (4.50 GHz). 64GB RAM.

I saved a solar Tiff I made in Autostakkert! from a Mono16 solar capture (100 frames stacked from 1000 frames shot of full disc Sun)

I make and save 5 profiles (File / Save Processing Settings).

Close program, open program, drag in the TIFF and try each of the 5 saved profiles on the Sun image, one after the other, I end up with 5 profile XML files that are identical, I think all the same as the first one I opened.

I'm not hitting Save, not hitting Save File Settings, and I'm not altering the Tone Curve or any other settings.

It happened whether I load the profiles from the Load Processing Settings buttons or from the "Show List of Recently Used Settings" button, with the list of previous profile load to the right of that.

For a workaround I set each of the 5 files to "Read Only", that fixed it. But has anyone else had this issue? I like the program a lot except for this.

Which version of ImPPG are you using?

I couldn't reproduce this behavior with 2.1.0 under Linux; I'll check Windows 11 as well.

It's the first thing in the subject line of my post. lol.

I downloaded it from GitHub less than a month ago.

A minor complaint: the presentation of the About window is annoying, makes it difficult to read, and might even trigger a person with epilepsy.

The inverted animation of your video of a tight shot of a moving prom on Sun is very cool. But having it flash to white or negative at the end (or whatever it's doing) is JARRING.

It would be trivial to make it senselessly circle around. There are videos of that on AstroBin. I can find one if you need. Let me know. Then you could ask the person how they did it if you want to change and can't figure it out.

But it shouldn't be hard. It doesn't seem like an artifact of animation, I'm guessing it's a white frame or non-inverted frame (or a few frames) at the end of the animation you've inserted as an artistic decision maybe? Or to draw attention?

The window already has our attention, we came there intentionally to try to read it. This makes it less readable. Especially since the white flash happens before the About window can all be read if you read at a normal rate and are trying to read it.

I actually read a little faster than average and the flash still interrupts my reading before I'm done through carefully once.

Great program other than this and the other thing.

Noted; it was indeed a manually added flashing effect just for the "fun" of it. I was anyway going to change this animation (I've made a bunch of higher-resolution ones in the past years), I'll keep it down next time.

I couldn't reproduce it on Windows 11. I'm thinking it might be related to some OneDrive syncing misbehavior or something like that. Try with saving your settings file in another location (e.g., a new folder under C:\Users\USERNAME).

I don't think it's OneDrive, I've never enabled or used that on any computer. Using a default cloud is for dumb dumbs. lol.

No special steps required, just when saving the settings, navigate to the desired path.
