extension-checker

Description

Once we start the checker (web browser extension) to scan a webpage, no option is available for us to terminate the ongoing scan. This is especially annoying for very complex web pages as the scan might run for an extremely long time. During the scan, the scanning web page is frozen and unresponsive. The only workaround is to force reload the webpage, and sometimes, it might even require us to clean up all the cache for that webpage to terminate the scan.

Also, I noticed that once the scan is running against a page of a website, all other web pages of that same website (that opened on other tabs of the same browser) will also become unresponsive (frozen) until the scan is completed. Not sure if this is a bug or not.

We are using Chrome and Firefox as our browser.
