I’ve been looking at the Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-AMOLED-2.16:
https://www.waveshare.com/esp32-s3-touch-amoled-2.16.htm
On paper it looks like a good candidate for BambuHelper:
- 480x480 display, so it can likely reuse the existing 480x480 layout work
- ESP32-S3R8 with PSRAM and 16MB flash
- QSPI AMOLED panel, which is close to display plumbing already used elsewhere in the project
- It would be the first AMOLED option, which should look very nice on a desk
Only catch: I don't have one. I buy every board I support myself, and I'd rather not order this one blind unless people actually want it.
So if you'd use it, drop a 👍 here
That tells me whether it's worth doing. And if anyone feels like chipping in toward the board, my Ko-fi is here (on main page), totally optional.
Couple of honest notes once I get the hardware: the touch chip (CST9220) and AMOLED brightness can only really be tested on the real thing, so the first build might need a tweak or two from whoever's got one in hand. No firm timeline - depends on interest and how fast it ships.
