How to disambiguate actions when a button is pressed?

I have a Sonoff button that I'm using with zigbee2mqtt.

Here is an example message posted over MQTT:

The problem is, after the button is pushed, the action remains at single. So when a message comes in, how can I tell that the button was actually pressed, and some other property didn't instead change?

Oh nevermind - I've figured out that the action only appears briefly when the button was pressed. Phew...

Actually reopening - as it would be very useful for zigbee2mqtt to immediately repost the state of the device with the action removed. Otherwise, on the client side there is no way to reliably keep track of the full device state if a property is being reset behind the scenes but not being relayed over the topic.
