Who Am I?

Hey all. Mark, Smitty, SmittyHalibut, N6MTS here. I'm very interested in following M17, and did some work writing very early versions of the specificaion. (The original version of the base40() spec was mine. :-)

I've been mostly idle for the last year or two, but am always keeping an eye on things from the shadows. (Too ominous?)

What Can I Do: Adoption

Adoption is the make-or-break of any new tech/system/protocol. There are two ways I think I can help with this.

1. I'm a host of a podcast with several thousand fortnightly downloads (Ham Radio Workbench) and try to use my voice to boost the good things happening in Ham Radio, like M17. Once I have the time to mod my pair of MD-380s and put up a hot spot, I will share that experience with my audience and spread the word as best I can.
2. I also run company selling and shipping kits and final products for Ham Radio and Audiophile electronics (Halibut Electronics). I've found that a lot of users just want to throw money at an appliance, even for open-source projects. Again, making that an option will help with adoption. If anything with M17 needs a sales and distribution channel, let me know. I'm happy to help with that.

I'm in Discord, but have ... a lot ... of Discord servers, with a lot of activity. I have no hope of staying up to date with any of them if I want to actually get work done in any given day. Hashtag ADHD. :-)
