Show screen names instead of full names option doesn't work

Steps to reproduce.

1. go into the account settings dialog and enable the Show screen names instead of full names option.

Expected.

Screen names should be shown.

Actual.

Display names are still shown even though show screen names instead of full names is enabled.

Is this happening on the GUI or via invisible interface?

The GUI works, it's the invisible interface where it isn't working.

For the invisible interface we use templates. There you have $display_name and $screen_name. I think that's the issue. I'm not sure how to implement the change because it seems it only affects to the GUI.
