It would be great if we could describe what the package enables users to do in the simplest possible language.
One idea is to take https://github.com/ManchesterBioinference/BranchedGP/blob/master/notebooks/Hematopoiesis.ipynb and make it simpler than it is now. Some potential ideas (to be critiqued - they're coming from a complete newbie to this area):
- Explain what is hematopoiesis and the problem we're exploring in the notebook.
- Explain the data a bit more. Short descriptions of the columns and summary statistics?
- Explain how monocle fits into this whole setup.
Unrelated question: what's a good way to evaluate if BranchedGPs are doing a good job at figuring out the branching points? Is there a notion of "ground truth"?
