CBM-019 — Workflow-engine market gate with real graph evidence #21

Description

@Martin-Hausleitner

Source: immutable masterplan

Priority: P1
Files: Create benchmarks/orchestration/, comparison report, scripts, and screenshot assets.

  • Verify repos, licenses, OSS/open-core boundaries, SDKs, replay/graph features, and self-host requirements for Hatchet, Temporal, Trigger.dev, Restate, Inngest, Prefect, Windmill, Kestra, Dagster, Airflow, Argo, and Dapr.
  • Run the same fan-out/fan-in ACPX/browser acceptance workflow on Hatchet and Temporal; add a third candidate only if it beats either on a scored gate.
  • Capture real dark/light run, graph, replay, retry, failure, and cancellation screenshots with run IDs.
  • Measure idle/load RAM, CPU, disk, startup, latency, retry correctness, worker recovery, and operator usefulness.
  • Score local-first/federation/DAO compatibility without calling a centralized database decentralized.
  • Commit as docs(benchmark): Compare durable agent workflow engines.

Acceptance: The winner is selected from reproducible evidence rather than the transcript's unverified RAM/timing claims.

This ticket is part of the dependency-ordered universal control-plane program. Do not weaken its safety exclusions or acceptance gate.
