Question: Does Mercury compiler work on Apple Silicon Macs?

Mercury should build and install "out-of-the-box" on Intel Macs using macOS

seems to indicate that it works for Intel Macs, but no mention of Apple Silicon Macs is made. Can it be installed on Apple Silicon? Can it compile Aarch64 for Apple Silicon?

Well I tried it and it seems to work! But perhaps the README.MacOS could be explicit about that.

I'm not aware of there being any reason for it to not work on Apple Silicon, although it has not been extensively tested on Apple Silicon. Most of the references to "Intel Macs" in the README file are left over from the days when the distinction
between Intel and PowerPC based machines mattered. I'll update it.
