Description
As I showed you after the MathML WG meeting at TPAC, we had created a custom element for la-tex which lets authors write
<la-tex>\frac{x^2}{a^2} + \frac{y^2}{b^2} = 1</la-tex>
And create the actual MathML in a Shadow DOM so that the document's source remains the same. The code required for this is pretty simple - https://fred-wang.github.io/TeXZilla/examples/customElement.js
It would be fun to see one of these for unicode math too. If there was a little more interest I'd love to help work out a few common issues with 'shorthand' elements and styling...
Let me know if you take it up!
