swfobject.embedSWF() fails when using IE compatibility mode

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. swfobject.embedSWF() fails when using IE compatibility mode
2. it launches correctly when compatibility mode is disabled
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
no error code is returned; nothing happens

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
using swfobject 2; IE11 on Windows8; IE10 on Windows7

I also got this issue too. it works on IE 10 Windows 7 but nothing happened on 
IE 9.
