not caching images anymore

For whatever reason, we're not caching images anymore.

To replicate all you have to do is refresh a page with a lot of icons (like my interactive sessions) and you'll see that you re-request all the images again.

I'm quite sure we fixed this some time ago, but apparently that's not the case. So let's do it all over again.

Not sure if you noticed but I suspect this is why:
Cache-Control: no-cache
Pragma: no-cache

The e-tag and modified dates are correct, so it's likely just the cache headers...

I know this is for apache and I actually think the caching needs to be set at the nginx_pun layber? but is this of help?

You could also disable etags to improve the performance of the server at the risk of mid-air cache collisions?
