select download location when downloading files

At least in 3.1, when downloading a file (or files; or directories in a zip), there is no prompt where to download the files locally (or changing in the name, esp for zipped downloads).

Is this something that can be controlled from the OOD side, or is this a browser thing?

Being able to choose to download multiple selected files, as a single zipped file would also help teh case of flooding the default download dir with lots of files.

We could potentially download multiple files as a zip - but I believe it's a browser setting on where to download the files, if there is such a setting at all.

it seems this is indeed a browser controlled setting; but looks like it is configurable (both the default location and also to either just download or prompt where to download it). a bit annoying you can't suggest this from e.g. javascript to prompt a "save as" option, but something we will have to add to our docs.
