Hey there! If you're here to check out what forks out there are currently updated from time to time with features, then you're in the right place
or maybe you just wanna check out what features they have added, or just curious. If so, I'll list it out below!
[NOTES: Bear in mind, Each of their respective forks of Moonlight-Tizen have their own guides and installation methods. Please make sure you check out what they have listed carefully, for some it will be similar guides.
and if there are issues with whatever fork you are using, please ask the devs of these forks about them, make an issue on their respective github page of the fork you are using. Some of these forks may not work for all.]

1) KyroFrCode fork of Moonlight-Tizen is the First/Original known fork that managed to get Moonlight to work on Tizen/Samsung TV. It is a little outdated, but does work, but not recommended as much to use now, but it absolutely does deserve a mention here.
https://github.com/KyroFrCode/moonlight-chrome-tizen - (This is NOT recommended to use now. but it is there as an honorary legacy build of Moonlight-Tizen.)
(Features: It has 30-60hz/fps support only. Gamemode IS automatically ENABLED on stream. Controller support.)
(Codec support: H264 only.)
(Resolution support: 480p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4k)
(Installation method it has: Docker Method only.)
Info: Currently Not recommended to use as it is a little outdated and Kyro recommends using OneLiberty Fork which you can read about below which contains fixes.
Recommended Tizen Version: Tizen 5.5 - Tizen 8.0! (Tizen 9.0 has a software bug with gamemode which unfortunately breaks this build of moonlight tizen for those on Tizen 9.0!)
For those on Tizen 9.0 only, It is recommend that you can try one of the two builds of Moonlight to get Moonlight to work, BrightCraft Moonlight-Tizen build and MrPhaze62 Tizen-Moonlight-No-Gamemode, both which are listed in this guide. Just install one of them and enjoy!)

2) OneLiberty Moonlight-Tizen fork is one of the updated and recommended to use, as it is built upon from KyroFrCode fork, and contains many bugfixes, features and updates added!
https://github.com/OneLiberty/moonlight-chrome-tizen - (Recommended!)
(Features: It has 30-60hz/fps support only. Gamemode IS automatically ENABLED on stream. Better Controller support, WOL, Mouse Emulation.)
(Codec Support: H264, HEVC, HEVC Main 10, AV1)
(Resolution support: 480p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4k)
(Installation Method it has: Docker Method, Tizen Studio, USB Method, .WGT release available.)
Info: Much more recommended to use, as it updated from Kyro's Fork. pretty neat. Plus more methods to install to the TV directly.
Recommended Tizen Version: TizenOS 5.5 - TizenOS 8.0! (TizenOS 9.0 has a software bug with gamemode which unfortunately breaks this build of moonlight tizen for those on Tizen 9.0!)
Just install one of them and enjoy!

3) BrightCraft Moonlight-Tizen. This is another version of moonlight-tizen which is a standalone build, this was originally forked from KyroFRcode and then later changed into their own independent version of Moonlight-Tizen, This build has features similar to above, and more with his own fixes and additions. (see his about me section for more information about his build.)
https://github.com/brightcraft/moonlight-tizen - (A Community recommended alternative!)
(Features: It has 30/60/90/120hz Support. GAMEMODE is initially ENABLED on this fork. Better Controller support, WOL, Mouse Emulation, Has STATS/Info added. New Feature: Gamemode setting/switching!)
(Codec Support: H264, HEVC, HEVC Main 10, AV1)
(Resolution support: 480p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4k)
(Installation Method it has: Docker Method, Tizen Studio, USB Method, .WGT release available.)
Recommended Tizen Version: TizenOS 5.5 - TizenOS 9.0! (Tizen 9.0 has a software bug with gamemode which unfortunately breaks this build of moonlight tizen for those on Tizen 9.0! Thankfully with gamemode switching being a thing here, you can disable gamemode and enjoy gaming!)
This fork is one of the constantly maintained and up-to-date build of Moonlight-Tizen with features which is why it is recommended here, as it is frequently being updated more often than the current forks listed here.
This fork has a cleaner UI look, has it's own dedicated settings options with experimental features such as 90/120 FPS support, 5.1 surround sound experimental audio support (5.1 surround sound likely may not work? but the option is there if you like.), GameMode Switching! (A new feature that is not available in any current forks out there.)
Notes: The higher Hz/FPS option may likely not be able to display anything higher than what Samsung intended/limited it to. (This is explained further in the guide later!) So it is considered experimental!
As of Brightcraft latest moonlight build/version (v1.10.0 or newer) has introduced a new feature which is the ability to switch GameModes! (For the experts, this means you can switch between UltraLowLatency to LowLatency, and vice versa!, For the users it means having the ability to turn Gamemode off and on.)
This is a very new feature that has just been added and not available in other forks.
Brightcraft has a really good guide/Wiki found on his github page which is very much recommended for beginners and the community alike. I would also recommend this to others in my opinion as an alternative fork of moonlight-tizen that you can use if you're looking for features that you desire.
If you're on Tizen 9.0, it is recommended that you disable GameMode within Moonlight settings, or read further into BrightCraft wiki Here

4) ToyPoodleGaming Moonlight-fork is another fork that has more features that is built upon OneLiberty fork. You may have seen their video floating around on Youtube when searching up online.
https://github.com/toypoodlegaming/moonlight-chrome-tizen
(Features: It has 30/60/90/120hz Support. However, Gamemode IS DISABLED on this fork. Better Controller support, WOL, Mouse Emulation, Has STATS/Info added.)
(Codec Support: H264, HEVC, HEVC Main 10, AV1)
(Resolution support: 480p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4k)
(Installation Method it has: Docker Method, Tizen Studio, USB Method, .WGT release available.)
Recommended Tizen Version: TizenOS 5.5 - TizenOS 9.0!
You may be wondering why there is a difference with Gamemode being disabled here on this fork. If Gamemode is ON/Enabled then on the samsung TV itself means all picture enhancement are disabled completely, giving you the lowest latency during gameplay/streaming.
Since gamemode is DISABLED here, it now means that picture enhancements are enabled, and you will likely will experience latency as if you are watching normal TV channels.
This may turn users off, or if knowledgeable enough, have desire to edit the source code to enable gamemode and retain the current features this fork has. Nothing wrong with that, it is all open source so anyone can do so as they like!
You may also wonder that it has more Hz/FPS support beyond 60hz! I would generally consider anything above 60hz on these forks, as an experimental idea (as the samsung docs officially state that the wasm player that it uses is limited to 60hz at the max, so it may not display at those hz but it is there for users if they wish to have higher frames.)
I see this being referenced more often by users, as it is one of the forks that people like, for it's higher Hz/FPS option and the STATS information/feature added that isn't present in others.
5) MrPhaze62 Tizen-Moonlight-No-Gamemode Fork. This fork mirrors OneLiberty fork, but with just gamemode entirely disabled completely.
https://github.com/MrPhaze62/moonlight-chrome-tizen-no-gamemode
(Features: It has 30-60hz/fps support only. Gamemode IS DISABLED on stream. Better Controller support, WOL, Mouse Emulation.)
(Codec Support: H264, HEVC, HEVC Main 10, AV1)
(Resolution support: 480p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4k)
(Installation Method it has: Docker Method, Tizen Studio, USB Method.)
Recommended Tizen Version: TizenOS 5.5 - TizenOS 9.0! (Recommended fork that works with Tizen 9.0 if you're wanting to use OneLiberty Build of moonlight!)
Just a fork that disables gamemode entirely, based/mirrored on OneLiberty fork. Reasons are listed in the fork, but generally it's for people that wants to have the option to change brightness and such,
whereas with gamemode enabled, you don't get to change any picture settings. Again, at the cost of minor latency, but there is an issue posted on that github to potentially reduce stutters and such.

6) ruanformigoni Moonlight-Tizen fork - This fork is built upon BrightCraft Moonlight build with a nice change of potentially fixing most audio issues!
https://github.com/ruanformigoni/moonlight-tizen
(Features: It has 30/60/90/120hz Support. GAMEMODE is initially ENABLED on this fork. Better Controller support, WOL, Mouse Emulation, Has STATS/Info added. New Feature: Gamemode setting/switching!)
(Codec Support: H264, HEVC, HEVC Main 10, AV1)
(Resolution support: 480p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4k)
(Installation Method it has: Docker Method, Tizen Studio, USB Method, .WGT release available.)
This fork of Moonlight Tizen has changed the audio backend completely to OpenAL, eliminating the audio issues such as Audio Crackles/Stutter ect... I would like to generally recommend this build ONLY for those having audio issues on other moonlight builds above that I have mentioned.
Honestly this is an impressive feat, I promise you, we have people complaining of audio issues on specific TV's out there since the very start of the projects that affects all builds of moonlight tizen, This is honestly a massive win in my opinion! While i've never experienced audio issues using Moonlight, the reports are very real.
Please read their github page for more infomation on how it works!! I do not know if they'll make a PR request over on BrightCraft repo or others, but this does deserve a mention and is listed here!
#121 (comment) - See this comment section on what is added/changed(along further info on their main repo!)

7) Just an honourable mention as it is another fork, but there is a NaCL version of moonlight tizen made by OneLiberty, BUT FOR OLDER SAMSUNG TV's ONLY!!
https://github.com/OneLiberty/moonlight-tizen-nacl - (not recommended for newer tvs.)
NaCL is made for older Samsung TV's only (TV's older than the year 2020), but it is a proof of concept only. Perhaps, someone else can fix this up further and make it much more stable.
As it is now, the NaCl has issues that is posted on the github, generally, if you are willing to give this ago on your old samsung TV, you can. Otherwise, I recommend using an Android Box/AppleTV or a firestick ect..
(Features: It has 30-60hz/fps support only.) - Check the nacl github issue
(Codec Support: H264) - Check the NaCl github issue.
(Resolution support: 480p, 720p, 1080p, 1440p) - Check the NaCl github issue about this.
(Installation Method it has: Docker Method.)

Again, Whatever fork you decide to use, Please make sure you do go to their respective github page if you have ANY ISSUES, Each of the forks listed above have their OWN methods, and have their OWN separate issues.
Some forks can't fix other forks issues, mainly not all of us use them often. So please, make sure you ask in the correct place!
OneLiberty Fork has a discord server listed in his version of Tizen-Moonlight on github, based on his own fork, but people are welcome to join and ask for support and chat,
OneLiberty can't likely to help with other forks that aren't his as they have their own issues and fixes that the devs of those forks know how to fix,
It would be nice if devs of those other forks do join the discord and chime in and help, that will be very helpful!
I may have missed out on some information/features or gotten something incorrect, if that happens, I will edit and update this from time to time! Hopefully you now know the forks out there for Samsung Tizen!
[Post/edits was last updated on: 24th February 2026 - Changelog: Moved the recommendations up for easier visibility, Added and reworded new info to make it easier for beginners without hopefully sacrificing infomation. Added ruanformigoni Moonlight-Tizen build to the list!]
