Instructions for Installing Moonlight on Your TV:

• Ensure that your TV is running on Tizen version 5.5 or higher.
• Download the MoonlightTizen-1.2.0.zip file.
• Extract the contents of the zip file to the root directory of your USB key.
  • The structure for your USB Drive should be as follow :

root/
├── userwidget/
    ├── app.tmg
    ├── widget.license 

• Insert the USB key into your TV's USB port.
• Wait for the installation process to complete. (This can take some time)

Note

Please note that this installation method may or may not be persistent. For a more reliable installation, it's recommended to use the Docker install method if possible.

I have a weird bug after installing the 1.2.1 version. Running Moonlight from the home screen only shows "Error: Please try again later" however if i run it from the "Apps" section it works fine. Also the AV1 codec disappeared from the codec selection

Well, that is indeed very weird.
Which version did you install ?

USB is limited to 30days, after which you need to reinstall it.
Sometimes i'm getting "Error: Please try again later" on my TV too, usually it's when turn on the TV and want to launch (apps or anything) before the TV can connect to the WiFi :/

Did you install a previous version before ? (like one without AV1 ?)

Yes i did use old versions with the docker method before and they worked perfectly. Afterwards i installed 1.2.0 via USB and it worked great and was able to use AV1 until i got the expiry error so i checked here to see if there was an update and i found 1.2.1 is released so i downloaded it to my USB and deleted the old installation and installed 1.2.1 from scratch.

Don't know if the problem is connected to the WiFi setup as i have my TV plugged in via Ethernet. But everything else seems to be working fine if i run it from the "Apps" screen besides AV1 disappearing.

I also can't get mouse emulation to work. Before 1.2.0 i used to use my DS4 touchpad and now it doesn't register its inputs at all

I see no reason why AV1 would disappear like that.
Are you sure that the app that you're running via Apps is the updated one ?
I'd suggest deleting all version you found on the TV and going for the docker method.

I can confirm that with a clean installation with the Docker method, everything is working perfectly including mouse emulation support.

Hi , First of all thanks much for the effort in simplifying the installation process with the USB method . But I have this issue where I could not add machine manually using ipv6 address . I am streaming over internet and it works perfectly fine on my android phone and on a generic Android tv box with the same ipv6 address . Has some one faced a similar issue ? I keep getting the error failed to connect ensure sunshine is running on host ...

Are you putting the V6 address inside [ ] ?
It works fine for me outside of my home with an ipv6

Ya , I am doing the exact samething what I am doing for my android devices .. it is even the same network ( I mean all the client devices are on the same network ) so I know there is no issue with network itself ..

i'd suggest trying first with a local ipv4 to check that everything works as intended (network and sunshine)
It's not because it works with the android client, that it should work with this client.

Samsung tvs are, well, something...
Are you using wifi on your tv ? if not i'd suggest giving it a try

Yea , I am using wifi . Sure , will check with local ipv4 first . But the speed at which the moonlight app throws the error , I am suspecting it is not even connecting to internet in the firstplace .. but I will check this and get back
