To evaluate the quality of retrieved documents in docsite search, collect a test dataset of real user questions from the AI assistant

  • These should be real user questions, but curated to pick ones that don’t require extensive context. Use LLMs to help collection.
  • Aim to leave some for an “unseen test set” we don’t directly develop towards and overanalyse.
  • There may not be enough suitable questions initially in the database. This dataset should be iterated periodically.
