Regression or User Error? 3.2 won't open files that 2.0 will open

I recently update from a very old v2.0 and this new version won't open the files I was working with just fine in 2.0. I just get a blank error window with the title Failed to open file

Figured this out. It had to do with the filename. I guess something changed in supported filenames.
