Describe the bug
Show error"Failed to open C:/Users/****/DownloadslGitHub Store Downloads/~.exe. Error message: Unsupported URI content: ~.exe"

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Download any softwate
2. After download the installer, scroll too the bottom of the page.
3. See error

Expected behavior
Fix the bug.

Confirmed root cause + fix in #517.

What's happening: the desktop client launches .exe installers via Java's Desktop.getDesktop().open(file), which internally converts the file path to a URI before handing it to the OS. When the path contains non-ASCII characters — Chinese username in C:\Users..., special filename glyphs like the leading ~ — the URI conversion rejects it and surfaces as Unsupported URI content. The error path is the same regardless of running as admin, since the URI conversion happens before any privilege check.

Fix: switched to cmd /c start "" "" (same ShellExecute mechanism the app already uses to launch installed apps), which takes the path verbatim through the Windows system codepage and doesn't go through URI parsing. Lands in 1.8.1.

Quick workaround until 1.8.1 ships: download the .msi build of the app you're trying to install instead of the .exe — .msi installers go through msiexec directly and aren't affected.
