This thread is for anyone setting up AMRIT locally and running into issues.

If you face a problem while following the documentation, please reply here with:

1. What you were trying to do

   • e.g. "Running the backend", "Bringing up Docker containers", "Building the Angular app"

2. Environment details

   • OS (Windows / macOS / Linux + version)
   • Java version
   • Node & npm versions
   • Docker version (if applicable)
   • Database (local / Docker)

3. Steps you followed (short)

   • Link to the doc section (URL)
   • Commands you ran (or screenshots if easier)

4. Error or unexpected behaviour

   • Exact error message/log (or a screenshot)
   • What you expected to happen

5. Anything you already tried

   • e.g. "tried cleaning cache", "reinstalled dependencies", etc.

I’m new to AMRIT and have recently set up the project locally. I’m exploring the codebase and would like to start contributing.
I noticed that many issues in the main repository are marked as C4GT DMP tickets and are being assigned through a formal process. Could you please guide me on how I can get started with contributions in this case?
Are there any beginner-friendly or unassigned tasks that I can work on outside of the DMP process?

• Have you set up the project locally successfully?
• Have you gone through all the PSMRI repositories (frontend, backend, etc.) and checked the open issues yourself?

Hi everyone!
I'm Aarti Panchal, exploring the AMRIT codebase as part of C4GT DMP 2026.

Successfully set up Common-API and MMU-UI locally. A few things that helped me get started:

• The submodule init step for Common-UI is easy to miss for first-timers
• Java 17 is required for Common-API (not mentioned prominently in README)

I've opened a few PRs while exploring:
