I want to share an important update regarding drawy, the infinite whiteboard application written in C++ and Qt.
The project has officially moved to KDE Invent, and active development will continue there going forward.
First, thank you to everyone who has supported drawy so far through code contributions, issue reports, testing, and general feedback.
Why the move to KDE Invent
The decision to move Drawy under the KDE umbrella was made after careful consideration. The key reasons are:
The existing tech stack aligns very well with KDE’s ecosystem. Drawy is built on C++ and Qt, which fits naturally with KDE frameworks, tooling, and development practices.
Drawy can have a much larger impact as part of KDE than as a standalone application. KDE provides a broad user base, strong visibility, and long term sustainability.
KDE offers mature infrastructure for code review, continuous integration, translations, documentation, and release management.
Integration with KDE also improves discoverability, packaging, and distribution across Linux distributions.
Contribution and issue tracking changes
Pull requests must now be opened on the KDE Invent repository. Pull requests opened here will no longer be reviewed.
Existing issues that are already open in this repository will be addressed in the KDE Invent repository for now.
New issues should be opened directly on KDE Invent going forward.
This repository will effectively be in a frozen state and will not be used for ongoing development.
Thank you again for your continued support and interest in Drawy. I look forward to continuing development with the KDE community.
