Applying prism.py resulting in each word in a separate line

hi I'm learning to display a code snippet on my own website and I find this amazing prism library.
But I'm having trouble applying it.

This is what my snippet looks like before applying <script src="../js/prism.js"></script>

This is what it looks like after applying <script src="../js/prism.js"></script>

Please help me out and fix it. Thanks!

i figured it out myself :)
turns out my spans are displayed as block..
