Why are you requesting this just for Leaflet? Google Maps also does not have this. And why the "always"? This seems like something only a few people would want or is only useful in some cases, so I'm very hesitant to enable something like this by default. |
Indeed. I just picked the wrong example since I was already on the page.
I see Leaflet as the direct successor in features and functionality. Since last June last year GoogleMaps is completely off my radar and admittedly I did not think about this service at all. So yes, GoogleMaps could offer this too.

Both, it may be helpful to manually find the coordinates on a map without the need to got to osm. However being able to copy the coordinates of the mouse position as opposed to the marker position as |

OpenLayers additionally showed the coordinates of the current mouse position when hovering over a map in the bottom right of the map. Leaflet currently does not. This helps a little when determining the coordinates of an object without having to use the external OpenStreetMap maps.
