av.error.NotImplementedError: [Errno 40] Function not implemented: 'avcodec_send_packet()'

Overview

When decoding av1 encoded packet, it shows "av.error.NotImplementedError: [Errno 40] Function not implemented: 'avcodec_send_packet()'"
But when I run with ffmpeg, it works well.

I've been getting a similar error. Please run your code again with this enabled: av.logging.set_level(av.logging.VERBOSE)

Also what is the output of these?
av.codec.codec.dump_codecs()
av.codecs_available

And what cpu and gpu do you have?

Sorry I met the same issue on macOS that currently Windows is not by my side.

This problem only occurs for me when I build from source. How did you install pyav? Was it through pip or build from source or something else?

I install pyav in venv using pip.

python -m pip install av

If I use libaom-av1 or libdav1d when create Codec to decode ( codec = av.codec.CodecContext.create('libaom-av1', 'r') ), it seems work.
