The checkbox to only use Hysteresis on the way down is better than nothing but what would be really great would be to have separate configurable hysteresis and response time for both temp/speed increases and decreases. My ideal values would be something like:

Increase hysteresis - 0
Increase response time - 1 second
Decrease hysteresis - 0
Decrease response time - 20 seconds

PC loads often increase and decrease rapidly and often cause fans to spin up and down constantly. A long decrease response time (as offered on many motherboards) avoids constant spin up and down of the fans and keeps them spun up until the task putting intermittent load on the CPU or GPU is finished. Keeping the fans spun up for a while also allows any residual warm air to get out of the case quickly after the CPU or GPU has cooled down.

Many people may want to use hysteresis but have a lower value for increases than decreases.

This would be great. I want my fans to change speed as little as possible, so right now I'm using triggers. Being able to set a really high decrease hysteresis while maintaining a sane increase hysteresis would allow me to condense 3 trigger curves into a singular graph or linear curve.

Good idea, I was about to request this feature.

This is something I was hoping would be implemented also. Thanks for all you do.
