Initialization Failed Again on Wake from Sleep #2934
Comments
Do you get new cards as if you just opened the software for the first time, or you get nothing at all ? Might the identifiers ( the /usbhid/numbers/ ) change ? Otherwise, sleep in windows is tricky and messes with a lot of stuff. FanControl may wake up faster than the USB devices are? Even then it will try to refresh detection for over 30 seconds after sleep, so this theory is unlikely to me. |
I don't get anything except for the error shown when opening. It also happens after a full reboot. I haven't added any new hardware, or changed my USB ports, so I'm not sure how the numbers could change. It's happening a lot now, and every time I re-do everything it just happens again a few weeks later. |
Can you maybe explain how this works? DO these sensors map to USB devices that can be found in the registry somewhere? How is it possible for the device ID to change if no hardware changes have taken place? |
That was just theory, I don’t have any explanation right now. |
Just wanted to report back again. So it seems the Kraken USB device was showing in device manager as unrecognized. I had to literally power down the whole PC, unplug, wait, and re-power to get it to show (instructions from the NZXT website). I've never seen a USB device that needs a full power cycle before, but seems like this is a Kraken issue and not a Fan Control issue. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks for the support though! |
It's happened again, and it's not only Kraken this time. Is there any way to tell if this is a software issue or a hardware issue? Seems unlikely that both regular fan sensor AND Kraken both failing could be a hardware issue since they are separate devices.
