when calibrating fan speeds, software reports fan speeds going down from something like 1100RPM (when the max is 1500) then stopping at 900. no other fan controlling software was in use and this issue wasnt presented at first. the first calibration was fine then after a while i had to uninstall and reinstall and this issue was caused.

The autocalibration simply sets a speed, wait a bit, then reads the RPM.

Does the speed take long to settle to its RPM? If you do a little experimenting you should be able to see why it gives this result.

It seems to wait for a bit then just give a wildly wrong result which it never used to do. feels like its something telling the fans to kick up higher but theres nothing thast should be doing that

The value it reads is visible during the auto cal. Are these way off or is it only when you read it back? Add some screenshots that might help .

Im running a calibration to get some now, one thing i have noticed especially for AMD GPU is that when trying to calibrate to 100%, redeon reads the speed as only 90% give or take. not 100%

This is what it grabs from a calibration. odd thing is when it reached 100 then dipped to 90 it actually increased in speed...

The delay before the speed actually change might bust the wait time the auto cal has. Simply do it manually and let it be.

Okay, ill give that a try hopefully it works
Edit: i think the main issue with automatic cal is that my fans seem to deviate up and down a lot, when set to 90% it can deviate up or down by roughly 30RPM which causes the other issue of fan control thinking the fan is not responding
