How is this different from LearnFaster?

Good comparison. I think there is definitely some overlap at a high level, but the core shape of the project is different.

From what I can see, LearnFaster is more of an AI learning coach centered around personalized syllabi, spaced repetition, learning modes, and active practice.

This project is more artifact-first and metacognition-driven:

• It turns real source material or a real codebase into a persistent Obsidian StudyVault, not just a coaching session.
• The /tutor flow tracks understanding at the concept level: attempts, correct counts, unresolved concepts, and error notes.
• Sessions are chosen based on blind spots (diagnostic, drill weak areas, etc.), so the system is explicitly trying to surface what the learner does not yet understand.
• tutor-setup is source-grounded: it maps actual documents/codebases into structured notes, dashboards, links, and practice questions.
• It also supports a codebase onboarding use case, which is a bit different from a generic “learn any topic faster” workflow.

So I’d describe the difference like this:

• LearnFaster: coach-first, syllabus/review oriented
• tutor-skills: source-grounded StudyVault + concept-level metacognitive tutoring

In other words, this project is less about “generate me a study plan” and more about “build me a structured knowledge system from my actual materials, then continuously reveal and track my weak understanding.”

They’re adjacent, but not the same product.
