New 1.3?

Hello!

First, thank you for creating the open-source PCB project to enhance the Venom Arcade Stick. The work you’ve done so far looks incredibly!

I noticed the README mentions that v1.2 is functional except for Player LEDs, with fitment improvements already in place. While the current version seems viable, I wanted to ask: Are you still planning to release v1.3 to address the remaining LED issues and USB connector integration? Or has the project been paused indefinitely?

Even with the minor limitations of v1.2, the board is functional. I’m strongly considering ordering it as-is, but I’d love to know if v1.3 is still on the horizon.

Either way, thank you for contributing such a valuable project!

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad people are finding this useful!

I'm at a bit of a loss with Player LEDs and haven't had the time to work on it further. As you say 1.2 works fine apart from that, it's in both of my sticks! The only thing I'd like is standard USB connector as well for true plug and play, I've yet to properly mod my sticks for USB-C... but it works!

I can't say when I'll get around to adding the USB connector or fixing PLEDs. Need to dig out the ol' breadboard again haha.

If neither of those are a breaking issue for you I'd say go ahead. Heck, I have spare v1.2s populated. Pay for shipping and you can have them? I'm on the GP2040-CE Discord if you want to find and DM me.

Thank you very much! I just found an old Pi Pico, and I’m going to try adapting some cables to fit inside the Venom. It’s not as convenient as your solution, but I think it will work.

I really appreciate the spare v1.2s, but for now, I’ll first try using the Pi Pico directly. If I run into any issues, I’ll reach out to you on Discord.

Regarding the LEDs, I found the "LED Configuration" page in the GP2040 documentation, specifically the "Player LEDs (XInput)" section. It looks like it’s possible to configure a standard LED on any GPIO pin, so I plan to use GP22, GP26, GP27, and GP28. Hopefully, I can get the LEDs working that way.

I’m not sure if this applies to your board, but once I have some time to test, I can update you on my progress with the LEDs.

Hello!

I just finished setting up the extra buttons and LEDs. I added the LEDs as I mentioned in my last comment and configured the pins accordingly in the LED settings. The LEDs are also set to PWM mode.

Aside from that, I properly configured the turbo button and LED, and everything related to turbo is working correctly.

However, I'm not sure how to properly test the player LEDs. In the web configuration, all player LEDs are on, but when connected in controller mode, all are on except Player 1, which is off. It seems like they are inverted, but I’m not sure how to configure this.

I also tried connecting as Player 2, etc., but the same LEDs remain on and off regardless.

Yes, that sounds like the issues I was having with the LEDs, wish I knew some more to get it fixed. Try posting in the Discord help section?
