Some parts of the accent color are not overwritten properly

This is noticeable on Firefox's search bar and on GNOME's drag window to corner & Alt+Esc keybind. Instead of using the color of the theme, it uses the default GNOME blue. Seems to happen in all the themes.
Using the AUR version. 1.0.8.

The drag corners are going to be fixed, I don't know about Alt+Esc though because something is wrong with my Gnome. None of the keyboard shortcuts work, so I can't inspect the widgets to theme them. If I can figure it out before the next release then that will also be fixed.

I don't know how to get Firefox to comply to the theming in general. I think there is something that has to be done on the user side. This is something I really want to work but I have no idea how. I would recommend using some Firefox theme to hide the discrepancy.

If there is anything else please let me know, the next release is chalked up for (probably) Tuesday.

Firefox kinda plays along with theming if you toggle the "widget.gtk.libadwaita-colors.enabled" setting in about:config.
Chances are that by theming the drag corners it will also theme the Alt+Esc thing, as it uses the same color, hopefully doing the tricks to make it transparent on the drag corners on software and not by setting values somewhere.
The Alt+Esc component is commonly themed in normal GTK themes, that might have some clues.

Maybe you can try to use a VM or Live environment to test out things related to the keyboard shortcuts, I hope you can get them going again :(

Idk if this is issue worthy but one extra thing I noticed is that switching themes from light/dark using the dark mode button makes Rewaita kinda freak out? Sometimes it remembers what theme it should switch to, but other times it fails to do anything (the gsettings value IS changed). That requires setting the themes again and currently it is a bit confusing, it is easy to set the dark theme as the light one or set both options on the same theme accidentally. Currently it is hard to know if it was a bug or me not understanding the design.
I don't know GUI design to explain this properly but something that acts more like a variable you set in a more concrete manner would work, just being more obvious about what theme you are setting the light/dark variant to, like:

light-theme = gruvbox light (you click on this and it would show a list of themes to set light/dark-theme to)
dark-theme = gruvbox dark

I figured out the "freaking out" bug. It is a quirk of the AUR version, as it doesn't run on the background when you boot up your system. Should I report that to the maintainer of the AUR version? Or a bug report here would do, as I doubt any of the other versions correctly boot up Rewaita in the background

By not running in the background on boot, do you mean not running at all? Or it opens a visible window? I've seen both bugs in the past.

I do know that there were some bugs previously about preferences not saving. I believe the issue was caused by poor error handling and a poorly designed preferences system, which I've since reworked. You can check ~/.config/autostart and see if there is the rewaita.desktop file in there.

For Gnome users the portal api should work fine, so there isn't any need to drag in the AUR maintainer.

I also figured out the alt-esc problem, so the border colour is corrected.

What I mean is that when using the AUR version, it doesn't start with the system after a reboot, absolutely nothing on the system monitor related to Rewaita, the autostart file is missing on the AUR version.
I think the preferences saving behavior was not a bug but me getting confused due to the AUR version not starting with the system after a reboot.

Try installing xdg-desktop-portal-gnome

Xdg-desktop-portal-gtk3 is a listed dependency, required for theming.

Xdg-desktop-portal-gnome is NOT a listed dependency, it is required for auto starting the app on boot.

Maybe. Try it anyway I guess, it might work.
