errors with ./autogen.sh and make

Hi, I'm trying to unbrick my HomePod 1G. I made the cable and have this installed
idevicerestore 1.0.0-266-gf4d0f7e (libirecovery 1.3.0-1-g46f2a35, libtatsu 1.0.5-3-g60a39f3)
I know it's the wrong version but I can't get the right one installed. I tried the commands again but I get:
HEAD is now at d2e1c4f asr: Fix memory corruption due to double free. Not sure what I should try next. Thanks for any help.

I removed everything and tried to reinstall. I'm closer and believe I have the right version now but I get these errors from "./autogen.sh" and "make":

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables libirecovery_CFLAGS
and libirecovery_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
