Github Pages allow users to host websites for free from Github repositories using Jekyll and plain HTML content. No prior experience with GitHub, HTML or Jekyll is necessary, all are welcome. We will be trying out a few different tools so make sure to check the installation instructions.

Where: CDRS (Collaborative Digital Research Space, MN 3230) at Maanjiwe Nendamowinan building
When: 5:30 PM, March 19, 2025
Instructor: @QuLogic
What to bring: Computer, charged if possible, with a GitHub account, Git installed and if possible Jekyll installed too (instructions below):

GitHub Account
If you don't have one, go to https://github.com/join

Git
Installation instructions and download links can be found on the Git site.

Jekyll
Installation instructions for Jekyll can be found on the Jekyll site
Unfortunately Windows is not officially supported, however there are instructions for Jekyll on Windows.

Directions: The CDRS is located in the Maanjiwe Nendamowinan building, formerly the North Building, Room 3230 at the north end of the third level. Once you go through the main entrance of MN, take the elevator to the third floor, turn left, and go all the way down the hall. The door should be open 10-15 minutes before the lesson.
