Handle opening textual files in project

I am generating HTML and Markdown files inside a project, I want to be able to open the files in the project. If I try and open the file location on disk i get a folder with a few file items with no clear indicator for which of those is my file [1]. Ideally when i open the file it uses the default file handler for that file.
