Contributing to GnuCashX

Thanks for taking the time to contribute to GnuCashX

This document records general guidlines to begin your journey as a GnuCashX developer. These are just guidelines, please use common sense when things don't make sense. If you feel the document needs changes, feel free to propose a Pull Request.

How can I contribute?

Bugs

While reporting bugs, follow the issue templates and try to best represent the problems you're facing. Feel free to deviate from the template if it doesn't fulfill the purpose of your bug report, but try to follow when you can. Make sure the bug is not a duplicate

Features

If you have features you'd like to see in GnuCashX, make sure you make a feature request. Search prior to making a request, it's possible it's already been discussed.

Pull Requests

I love code, and I'd love to see your work. Don't hesitate to create a Pull Request for the changes you'd like to see in this repository, especially if you were planning on submitting a feature.

Git Commit Messages

  • Use the present tense ("Add feature" not "Added feature")
  • Use the imperative mood ("Move cursor to..." not "Moves cursor to...")
  • Limit the first line to 72 characters or less
  • Setup git hooks to enforce semantic git message as found in this specification

Submit Sample GnuCash sources

I would like to test this app with different kinds of input source files. If you'd to help put up a PR adding your anonymized .gnucash file under resources/user-books/. Follow README.txt to name your file correctly
