Describe the bug
Snap package us at 4.5.14 (Jun-2023) while latest version is 4.8.0 (Jan-2025)

https://snapcraft.io/install/ticker/ubuntu

To Reproduce
Run snap info ticker
Results:

channels:
  latest/stable: 4.5.14 2023-06-07 (201) 3MB -
  latest/candidate: 4.5.14 2023-06-07 (201) 3MB -
  latest/beta: 4.5.14 2023-06-07 (201) 3MB -
  latest/edge: 4.5.14 2023-06-07 (201) 3MB -

Expected behavior
Snap package should match latest version, especially when this is one of the methods listed in the install section.

If this snap is no longer being maintained, I would suggest to delete it altogether rather than leaving an obsolete version on it and remove this method from the Installation section since it is no longer supported.

Environment (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Linux
  • Terminal: gnome-terminal
  • ticker Version: 4.5.14

Additional context
I use ticker as a snap to avoid having run it as a docker package or doing manual installation.

Thanks for filing this issue! I did disable Snap since there was an issue with the release process that blocked all releases but I'll take a second look soon. Agreed this should be deprecated or maintained rather than the package left at an outdated version on Snap only.
