We've been using Aerostack2 in our group for a while both for academic and research projects. Its flexibility and its high detailed documentation makes it quite helpful for integration and for advanced multi-robot teaching. |

I have recently supervised two Bachelor's Thesis projects where Aerostack2 was the core framework for aerial robotics simulations. Even though I haven't used the software directly myself, I was impressed by how quickly my students were able to integrate it into their workflows. The framework proved to be robust and user-friendly enough for students to achieve complex simulation goals without getting stuck in the setup process. It is a powerful tool for both teaching and research. Highly recommended for any academic lab working with autonomous drones! |

Working at Arquimea Research Centre, I’ve used Aerostack2 as the middleware for integrating onboard sensors and control modules on embedded platforms. The framework’s ease of use and well-organized node hierarchy simplify connecting flight control, mission management, and perception layers. What impressed me most was how consistent and modular the design is — each component fits naturally within the ROS2 ecosystem, and communication between nodes is reliable even under demanding conditions. The documentation and examples provide a clear guide for customization, making Aerostack2 a strong choice for both prototyping and production-level UAV applications. |

In 2024/2025 period, WPWEB S.R.L., thanks to co-financing from the "Sustainable Mobility Center" Program (National Center for Sustainable Mobility – CNMS), was able to develop CROMU (Climate Resilience by Operating Multi UAS). The core of the project consisted of developing a demonstrator of an MVMS (Multi-Vehicle Management System) aimed at exploring territorial areas (simulated) for the prevention and management of climate-related risks. |

I recently used the Aerostack2 framework to develop several formation scenarios for a UAV swarm, and overall, the experience was very positive. Getting started was straightforward, and for simulations, the integration with ROS and Gazebo worked seamlessly. The documentation and examples were especially helpful—they made it easy to understand the overall architecture and applications. For my project, I was able to quickly develop and iterate over a range of formation flight scenarios using the Python API. The behaviors and plugins worked out of the box, while still allowing customization with minimal effort. I really appreciated the user-friendliness of the overall platform and would highly recommend it for similar use cases. |

I've been using Aerostack2 at Arquimea Research Centre (from ARQUIMEA company) for integrating autonomous flight functionalities into our ROS2-based robotic platforms. From a technical standpoint, the framework stands out for its clean, well-documented codebase and modular architecture. It’s remarkably easy to extend or modify specific behaviors without breaking the system’s overall logic. Integration with ROS2 was seamless — topics, services, and parameters followed conventions that made debugging and sensor fusion straightforward. The code structure also promotes clarity between perception, decision, and control components, which has been invaluable for real-time testing on UAV systems. In short, Aerostack2 combines solid engineering principles with genuine usability for robotics developers. |

We have used in our team Aerostack2 in different projects and it has been fundamental for the easy integration of multi-robot fleets in various applications, as in the project INSERTION, where an heterogeneous aerial fleet has to be coordinated, also with USVs, for inspection scenarios. |

Our team, the Service Robotics Lab at Pablo de Olavide University, has used Aerostack 2 in several projects, including MBZIRC 2023 and the Insertion project, with great success and ease of use. Moreover, the detailed tutorials make it an excellent choice for academic purposes. Keep up the great work!!! |

In a collaboration where we used Aerostack2 for our custom-built drone, what stood out most was how quick it was to deploy it and how well structured every module was. Perception/Control components are well separated. Onboarding was quick thanks to the tutorials and examples, and whenever we felt like we hit a wall for specific cases, the team was responsive and helpful! Great balance between robustness and usability. Thank you for the great work and sharing it ^^ |
