Forgot my password in my My book Essential WD

My problem is very similar to below post. I have been using my 1T My Book Essential since 2011 or 2012 and in 2018. I have a prove of ownership. I even contacted the WD support team and I was told that without knowing the password, the only way was to format the drive but I have many important files that I cannot afford to lose. Just wondering if anybody had any luck in recovering the forgotten password or bypassing the security lock.
Any tips or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

@themaddoctor I have a WD my book essentials 1TB drive and have forgotten the password I used to lock the drive.

I had registered my drive with WD and have that record and account listing the hard drive in.

I can also prove my ownership in different valid ways kindly help me out on how to decrypt the drive in Linux ( I’lll use the Kubuntu release ) or may be if you can help me recover the first 4 letters of the password ( I can list you all possible combinations I used) this or it would be great if you could remotely help me out

I am ready to put in efforts to perform this just need a kick start from your experience

You first need to take the enclosure apart and take off the bridge card. The bridge card connects to the SATA port on the disk and has a USB port for connecting to the computer. Look at the square chip in the middle of the board and tell us the brand and number written on it.
