Since one of the last updates, the Twitch plugin pops up a message telling to generate a OAuth token.

It appears I can't use it without being connected to Twitch anymore, even though I could just a few months ago. I don't have, nor don't want to have a Twitch account which renders this plugin useless to me. Has something changed in Twitch's APIs to justify that move? Surprisingly I couldn't find an issue specifically about watching streams anonymously. Am I the only person to do that?

Unfortunately yes, Twitch discontinued their legacy API and the new one doesn't work without a user token.

Your only options are to create a throwaway account or to stop using the addon.

Ok, so Twitch is also dead.
An workaround can be to use mpv or an other external video player to run this in kodi -> https://kodi.wiki/view/External_players

I think this issue can be closed :-/

I use liveproxy these days. Maybe you like it too. Not very flexible but it’s very stable for me.
