How can I add highlight for custom strings like "error", "warning", "note" in the build output?

Is there any way to add custom highlight for not only the ANSI color escape symbols?
It could be useful to highlight special words in the console build captured log like: "error", "warning", "note", "start", "end", "make", "time," etc.
