Thanks for the work you've put into this Web Extension thus far.
I think what would make the value proposition of this extension even better is if you could support Vector Databases that can be run on the local machine / local network or in a user-controlled VPC.
Plus, enabling a fully-local solution would maximize user privacy and reduce potential long-term costs of running the extension to near-zero (essentially, it'd only require the added cost of electricity for compute on devices you already own / operate anyhow).

For example, support for purpose-built vector stores Qdrant DB (github: https://github.com/qdrant/qdrant) or Lance DB (github: https://github.com/lancedb/lancedb) would be fantastic - both of these vector DBs are light on resource usage which makes them great candidates for running locally / on consumer hardware.
