Hi hi, I'm using vimix for an art performance that requires 20 clips, most mp4s that amount to 2G. I'm using 2019 Macbook Pro 16" with an Intel i.9 processor and radeon 5500 GPU. The program keeps going in "Application not Responding" mode after 15-20 minutes of play. I've reformatted some of the files to a pro res 422. Any suggestions to keep this puppy going with this amount of clips?

Hey ! Thanks for reporting the problem! I hadn't noticed but could replicate a problem on Mac Intel...

Meanwhile, it should work fine if you disable hardware En/Decoding in system settings

I could replicate the problem under OSX 11 on an Intel Mac; it is caused by gstreamer hardware-accelerated decoders for mac (vtdec) which blocs when seeking into a video (eg. rewind loop). This was not the case with previous gstreamer versions, and it is not really possible to identify which hardware is affected by the bug.

The new package vimix_0.8.4_OSX_11_x86_64.dmg includes a workaround : it detects this failure and reloads the video without blocking. hope this helps!
