How to Display TaskNotes in the Daily Note Template

I use templater and a daily notes template. How do we display the TaskNotes that are scheduled for today to be shown inline in the Daily Note. For example under a header "today's tasks". Thank you in advance.

There's currently no way at the moment to get notes to appear inline in Daily notes, unless you add a [[link]] to the task.

I'd recommend using the "Agenda" view for this kind of functionality.

For now, I've set up a base file embedded into my daily note template with a few different views to show currently due, weekly and monthly due tasks. Not all the functionality is there, for instance being able to check th task done, but at least I can see the list and open the note.

I'd love to see a way to embed a TaskNotes view in any other note. I am also using the bases plugin to see the due and overdue tasks on my homepage. A limited workaround as it works with the notes behind the task. Clicking on it in a bases view opens the note, not the task. But yet, TaskNotes is a wonderful tool ...

If you use dataview instead of bases to view tasks, you can interact better with them. For instance you can mark them as completed. The following will show you then next 7 days of tasks. I also use a summary field in my front matter to show information and link back to the source note the task was created from.

Hi,
Hoping for some help and advice on using Dataview to view TaskNotes (I know how to use standalone and inline Bases, but Dataview gives you some flex in for example, how to present the data).

@stuarttravers - very interested in your snippet code above, but I wonder if you could help with some of the code around dates. Ideally I need to display open tasks due today (including overdue), then a separate one for tasks without due date.

@callumalpass - brilliant plugin BTW 🥇Would be really useful to have some Dataview examples, and/or how to 'code' various things into Dataview (or a pointer to where it is, if elsewhere) Appreciate it's not the main theme of TaskNotes...

@socialchap I moved all my data view queries over to Bases not long after I last posted on this thread. For my use case, Bases was so much faster and reliable. Now that Tasknotes is also using bases under the hood, it really makes sense to at least deal with tasks that way as well for me.

To partly answer your question, the following Bases code shows me my upcoming tasks for the next week and any overdue I haven't completed.
