Description

Hi CapAwesome Team,

I hope you’re doing great!

I’d like to suggest creating a new Keep Awake plugin for Capacitor. This feature is crucial for apps that need to prevent devices from sleeping during tasks like video playback, navigation, or fitness tracking. While there are existing solutions, none are actively maintained, and having a reliable, modern plugin would be a huge benefit to the Capacitor ecosystem.

A dedicated Keep Awake plugin from your team would:
1. Simplify integration for developers.
2. Ensure compatibility with the latest iOS and Android updates.
3. Strengthen Capacitor’s ecosystem with support for this essential functionality.

Let me know your thoughts—I’m happy to share more details if needed. Thanks for all your incredible work!

What do you miss about the Keep Awake plugin in the Capacitor Community?

I don't miss anything actually the maintainers are quite fast at patching but I was just wondering some plugins have alternatives here. I see that you guys are building a sustainable business model here and I thought capawesome plugins would have better support in the long run :)

Since I am already maintaining the Capacitor Community plugin, I am closing this issue. I may move the plugin to Capawesome to make maintenance easier but apart from that there are no benefits.

@robingenz robingenz closed this as not planned Won't fix, can't repro, duplicate, stale Feb 5, 2025
