What servlet container are you using? tomcat? jetty? What error are you getting when you install on 4.2? Also what file named "extension" are you talking about that could be better? In the build process it deploys and extension.zip file to my local extension provider for testing, but when it actually gets deployed on a server I don't see that file name propagating to anywhere in the install.
